Finding WIFI password in case you forget it

There are times when you want to give wireless password to guest or friend but the problem is that you do not remember it. The sadness is that you are locked from the network because of the forget password. Opening of the network connections window

Windows live mail support saves the passwords for networks one is connected to. In order to see the saved passwords, open network connections window y doing the right clicking on network icon located in SYSTEM TRAY and after that selecting OPEN NETWORK AND SHARING CENTER. Click on CHANGE ADAPTER SETTINGS link that is located in left menu.

•    Alternately, press WINDOWS key +R and then type ncpa.cpl. After that press enter in order to open window.

On the wireless adapter, RIGHT CLICK

This will be labeled as wifi or one can also find the name of the manufacturer. From menu, select STATUS. 

Open PROPERTIES WINDOW of the connection

Click WIRELESS PROPERTIES and after that click SECURITY tab.

Reveal characters

Check the box named SHOW CHARACTERS and there will be the display of the wireless password. In case, there is no option to show characters, one can move to the next step.

This is freeware program made by NirSoft and scans Windows registry. It extracts saved wireless keys. It doesn’t work for Mac OS X. From the NirSoft website, one can download this for free.
